Description

Moving to a new country is a big adventure! Adam and his family are excited but also face many new challenges. Everything feels different—from the people and places to the way life is lived. But Adam is curious and open to discovering the world around him.

When they settle into their new home in the countryside, Adam encounters his most unexpected challenge yet—three unusual neighbours and a big, bad Wolf! His father isn’t sure about having pigs as neighbours and warns Adam to be cautious. In many cultures, this would be a natural reaction. But as Adam and his father navigate their new surroundings, they begin to see things differently.

The Three Little Pigs and Adam is a heartwarming story about acceptance, understanding, and finding friendship in the most unexpected places. Through Adam’s journey, young readers will discover the importance of embracing differences and building bridges across cultures.

About Ed Walwail

Ed Walwail wrote Three Little Pigs and Adam to reflect his own journey as an immigrant and to help children explore themes of identity, acceptance, and cultural understanding. By blending a classic tale with real-world challenges, he created a story that encourages young readers to embrace differences and find friendship in unexpected places. Ed is a creative storyteller and illustrator known for his culturally resonant adaptations of classic fairy tales. One of his notable works is Little Red Riding Hijab, a modern retelling of the traditional Little Red Riding Hood story. Presented as a webcomic on WEBTOON, this series re-imagines the familiar tale through the lens of Canadian immigrants, where the middle eastern story is known as “Laila and The Wolf.” In this version, the protagonist wears a hijab, offering a fresh perspective that blends traditional narratives with contemporary themes.
